When you make one of your mind maps public, it will automatically appear in your public map channel (as well as our public map library). The channel shows your name, your user avatar, description, website, and all of your publicly accessible mind maps.
You can change the description displayed in your public map channel in the "My Account" area.
To access your public map channel, go to your MindMeister dashboard and select "Public" in the navigation bar on the left. In the top-right corner, click on "Show My Public Channel".
If a person stumbles onto one of your public maps and likes it, chances are they will visit your channel to see who’s behind it and whether there are any more useful maps created by you. That’s why a well-managed map channel is not just a great resource for others, but also an advertisement for you and your work. Here are a few tips on how to get the most out of your channel:
- Provide a good description about who you are and what your public maps are about
- Upload a friendly profile picture (avatar)
- Add a link to your website or blog to drive traffic there
- Add your public map channel to your LinkedIn, Facebook and any other profiles you might have
If you click on the "My Feed" button on the left side you will be able to see maps from people you follow, you can also see the users you are following and the users that are following your channel.
You can also Unfollow a user simply by clicking on the Following button beside the user.
