Add Links to Topics (Old Version)

Old Article

Watch out! This article refers to the old version of MindMeister. If you're a new user, head over to this article to find the most up-to-date information on this topic.

You can add links to your topics to redirect to other mind maps or external websites. To do this, simply select a topic in your mind map, and then navigate to the Link widget in the sidebar on the right.

To link to an external website, simply type the URL into the empty field in the Link widget. The link will be saved automatically as soon as you click anywhere else in the mind map. You will know for sure that the link is saved when the link icon appears in your selected topic. Click on the link icon to open the website whose URL you've entered.

Aside from external websites, you can also link to email addresses or other topics - both within the same mind map and in other mind maps.

To link to another topic, go to the Link widget, click on URL, and then select Topic from the menu that appears.

Click on Advanced to open the Topic dialog. Here, you can select the mind map and topic you want to link to. Once you've selected the topic, confirm with OK.

To delete an attached link, select the topic in question and then click on the Delete button in the link widget.

You can access our WunderLink™ feature by clicking on the Magic Wand button at the bottom of the Link widget to let MindMeister find the best matching websites for your topic based on Google™ search.

Tip: You can click the Wand icon multiple times to get the best result for your ideas.
