Map Themes (Old Version)

Old Article

Watch out! This article refers to the old version of MindMeister. If you're a new user, head over to this article to find the most up-to-date information on this topic.

MindMeister offers a number of beautiful mind map themes for you to choose from. To select one of our pre-made themes, open the map editor and click on the ( i ) button in the top bar, then select a map theme from the dropdown menu.

How to Customize Your Map Theme

To customize your map's theme, click on the ( i ) button in the top bar and then select Customize... from the dropdown menu. In the new dialog that opens, you can switch between two tabs:

In the first tab, you can customize the look of your topics. Select the topic level you want to work on (central topic, first-level topic, or other topics) and then choose a color, font and border you like.

Switch to the other tab to customize the Background & Line styles of your mind map. For the background, you can either select a color from the color picker or upload a background image from your local hard drive.

Lines are customizable in 3 different styles and multiple colors.

Clicking "OK" will apply the theme changes you've made to the map you're currently working on.

How to Save Customized Themes For Your Team

Admins of the MindMeister Pro and Business plans are also able to save their customized map themes for themselves as well as their team by clicking Save...

Saved map themes will appear below MindMeister's default map themes, so you can quickly find and apply them to future maps. A list of all your saved themes is also available in your "My Account" area under MindMeister > Settings > Map Themes.

Here, you can edit and delete all saved themes, or set a particular theme as your default theme.
