Changes on October 14, 2026
Since October 14, 2026, every mind map on every plan is a private mind map. Team mind maps no longer exist, so private mind maps are no longer converted into team maps after a downgrade. To learn more, see Changes to team maps and map limits.
If a user downgrades from a Personal, Pro or Business plan to a Basic plan:
- Private mind maps remain private. All mind maps are private on every plan, so nothing changes about how your mind maps are shared.
- The Basic plan's limit of 3 mind maps per user applies. Mind maps that have been shared with you count towards this limit, too.
- Your 3 oldest mind maps (by creation date) stay available.
- All other mind maps are grayed out. You can still see them in your list, but you cannot open them. No mind maps are deleted.
How do I regain access to a grayed-out mind map?
You have two options:
- Remove an older mind map: Move a mind map you no longer need to the trash, or leave a shared mind map you no longer need. For each mind map you remove, the next oldest grayed-out mind map becomes accessible again.
- Upgrade again: Upgrade to a paid plan to access an unlimited number of mind maps.
