It is not possible to merge two accounts directly in Meister. Consolidating two accounts is currently not possible.
How to switch to a single active account
You may have accidentally created two accounts on Meister – for example, by signing up with different email addresses or via Google login and manual registration. In such cases, many users want to use only one account to manage their work centrally and avoid confusion.
Unfortunately, a direct merger is not possible. Accounts cannot be merged technically in Meister – data such as projects, tasks, or mind maps cannot be transferred automatically.
However, what is possible is this:
- You can delete the old account
- and transfer the email address of the old account to the new account
This ensures that you will only use one active account in the future – with the email address of your choice.
In this guide, we will show you step by step how to do this. The following instructions apply only to users who have a Basic plan and do not work in a team.
Step 1: Delete your old account
Important: Please note that the next step will delete not only your account, but also all of its contents. This means that all mind maps you have created will be deleted. If you want to keep them, you must contact Meister support before continuing with Step 1.
How to delete your MindMeister account:
- Log in to your old account.
- Click on your user profile in the upper right corner.
- Click on Plans in the left sidebar.
- Click Close Account.
- Fill out the form and tick one of the options (you may need to choose a sub-option).
- Check the box next to I accept that I will lose all my data forever and irrevocably.
- Click on Close account.
- Click on OK.
You have now successfully deleted your account. You will no longer be able to log in.

Step 2: Update your email address in your new account
Now you can reuse your original email address:
- Log in to your new account.
- Go to Account.
- Click on Me in the left sidebar.
- Click on the Password & Email tab.
- Scroll down to the Email section.
- Change the email address to the one you previously used in your old account. Enter your desired email address.
- Enter your password.
