How to Export Your Mind Map

 

Export Options and Available Formats

 

MindMeister offers a wide variety of export options, enabling you to turn maps into Word documents, save them as PDFs, as images, and more. 

Please note that not all export options are available for all plans.

Export formats supported by MindMeister:

  • Microsoft Word
    Transfer your mind map to a formatted outline using Microsoft Word. You can select various layouts and content options.

  • Microsoft PowerPoint
    Present your mind maps using Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Portable Document Format (PDF)
    Create a graphic representation of your mind map(s), including all colors and icons, in PDF format. You can choose the page size and format.

  • Document Outline
    Generate a text outline of the mind map that can be opened in applications such as Microsoft Word or WordPad.

  • Image File
    Create an image of the mind map including all colors and icons to reuse in documents or for archiving. You can choose between GIF, PNG, or JPG format.
  • MindMeister format
    Use an xml-based format to backup your mind maps.

  • FreeMind™
    Switch to a popular open-source mind mapping editor, FreeMind™ (version 0.9 and higher).

  • Mindjet MindManager™
    Switch to MindManager™ (version 6 and higher).

  • XMind
    Switch to a popular open-source mind mapping editor, XMind (version 3.2.x and above).

  • Archive of Image Files (Presentation export)
    Export the map presentation slides as images (.zip)

 

Export Your Mind Map from the Dashboard

 

  1. Click on the ellipsis (...) in the top-right corner of the thumbnail representing the mind map your wish to export (right-hand column in list view).
  2. Select Export.Export_1_-_Final_2x.png
  3. Select your preferred export format, then confirm by clicking Export.

Export From Within the Map Editor

 

  1. Click (i) in the top-left corner of the screen.Export_3_-_Final_2x.png
  2. Click ExportExport_4_-_Final_2x.png
  3. Select your preferred export format, then confirm by clicking Export.
