How to Use the MeisterTask Integration

What is the MeisterTask Integration?

MeisterTask is Meister’s task management tool. It integrates with MindMeister in order to convert mind map topics into trackable tasks that are part of projects.

You can find out more about MeisterTask on its homepage.

Connect Your MeisterTask Account to MindMeister

To use the MindMeister integration, you will need a MeisterTask account that is connected to the same login credentials you use for MindMeister. Once you are logged in to both MindMeister and MeisterTask, the integration will work automatically.

If you don’t have a MeisterTask account, you can create one straight from MindMeister.

From My Account:

  1. Click your user avatar, then My Account.

  2. Select MeisterTask from the left-hand toolbar and click Get MeisterTask Now.

  3. Follow the steps to create your account in MeisterTask.

From your mind map:

  1. Select any mind map topic.

  2. From the context menu bar, select the assign task icon.

  3. In the popover menu, click Connect.

  4. Follow the steps to create your account in MeisterTask.

Create a Task in MeisterTask from MindMeister

  1. Select the mind map topic you wish to convert into a task.

  2. From the context menu bar, select the assign task icon.

  3. Select the project to in which you wish to create the new task (or create a new one)

  4. Select the project section you wish to send the task to.

  5. Select an assignee for the task.

You will be able to see that a task is linked to the topic and that task’s assignee from the icon on the map topic.

About Your New Task

Each topic in your mind map can be linked to any MeisterTask project and section. This means you can use a single mind map to create tasks in as many projects as you like.

Any changes you make to the task in MeisterTask (name, description, etc.) will be reflected in your mind map automatically.

To open a connected task in MeisterTask:

  1. From the context menu bar, select the assign task icon.
  2. Click Open Task from the context menu panel to switch to MeisterTask.

The task dialog:

  1. The new task will automatically assume the topic caption as its title. This can be changed manually in MeisterTask (and will automatically sync with the caption name in MindMeister).

  2. Notes attached to the topic will be added to the task description in MeisterTask.

  3. The task dialog in MeisterTask will show a link to the connected mind map in the “Integrations” section. A link to the map will also be shown in the task activity stream.
