The MindMeister app for Claude connects Claude directly to your MindMeister workspace. Once connected, Claude can search, create, read, and update your mind maps using natural-language prompts.
The app is available in Claude's app directory. Search for MindMeister, install the app, and authorize access with your Meister account. You do not need to enter a connector URL or generate an API key.
Which connection should I use?
The MindMeister app is the recommended way to use MindMeister with Claude. If you use Claude Code, an IDE, or another compatible AI client, connect through the MindMeister MCP server instead.
Important
AI can make mistakes. Double-check any changes to your MindMeister content before relying on them.

Connect the MindMeister app to Claude
Users on personal Claude plans, including Free, Pro, and Max, can install and connect the MindMeister app themselves. No administrator action is required.
- Open Claude.
- Go to Customize > Connectors.
- Click the + button to browse the app directory.
- Search for MindMeister.
- Select MindMeister and click Install or Connect.
- Sign in to your Meister account and authorize access when prompted.
Once authorization is complete, MindMeister will be available in your Claude conversations.
You can enable MindMeister for a conversation from Claude's Connectors menu. Claude may also select the app automatically when it is relevant to your request.
Switch from the MindMeister custom connector
Some MindMeister users may already be connected to Claude through the MindMeister MCP server as a custom connector.
You can continue using the custom connector, but the MindMeister app is now the easier and recommended option for working in Claude. To switch:
- Open Customize > Connectors.
- Locate and disconnect your existing MindMeister custom connector.
- Find MindMeister in the app directory and install the app.
- Authorize the app with your Meister account.
Enable MindMeister on Claude Team and Enterprise
On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner or Primary Owner must add MindMeister to the organization before individual members can connect it.
Until MindMeister has been enabled for the organization, it will not be available to individual members and they will not be able to authenticate.
For Owners and Primary Owners
- Open Organization settings > Connectors.
- Click Browse connectors.
- Find and select MindMeister.
- Click Add to your team.
This makes the app available to members of the organization. It does not automatically give them access to MindMeister content.
For individual members
Once MindMeister has been enabled for the organization:
- Go to Customize > Connectors.
- Select MindMeister.
- Connect the app and authorize it using your own Meister account.
Connector restrictions
Owners can restrict which actions a connector may perform. Enterprise organizations can also manage connector access and permissions through custom roles. If MindMeister is available but a particular action does not work, ask your Claude administrator whether the corresponding tool has been blocked or restricted.
For more information about organization-level connector settings, see Anthropic's connector guide.
Permissions and access
The MindMeister app only sees content that the signed-in user can already access in MindMeister.
- The app cannot access mind maps, folders, or other content that is unavailable to your Meister account.
- Claude can only modify content when your account has the required editing permissions.
- Claude only performs actions when instructed through prompts and within the permissions granted to your account.
- You can revoke access at any time by disconnecting the MindMeister app.
Organization-level restrictions in Claude may further limit what the app can do. These restrictions cannot give a user more access than they already have in MindMeister.
Disconnect or reconnect the MindMeister app
To disconnect the app:
- Open Customize > Connectors.
- Select MindMeister.
- Choose the option to disconnect the app.
To reconnect, select MindMeister again and repeat the authorization process.
Troubleshooting
MindMeister does not appear in Claude
- If you use Claude Team or Enterprise, ask an Owner or Primary Owner to confirm that MindMeister has been added under Organization settings > Connectors.
- Ask your Claude administrator whether connector access has been restricted for your role.
- Open Customize > Connectors, click the + button, and search for MindMeister.
The app does not install or connect
- Check your internet connection and confirm that you have an active Claude account.
- Disconnect MindMeister under Customize > Connectors and try connecting it again.
- Retry the connection in a supported, up-to-date browser and ensure that pop-ups are not being blocked.
Your Meister account cannot be authorized
- Confirm that you can sign in to MindMeister directly with the same Meister account.
- If you use more than one Meister account, sign out of the other accounts before reconnecting. Only one Meister account can be connected at a time.
- Disconnect the app and complete the authorization process again.
Claude cannot find your MindMeister workspace
- Confirm that the app is connected to the Meister account associated with the workspace you want to use.
- Check that this account can open the relevant mind maps or folders directly in MindMeister.
- Make sure MindMeister is enabled in the Connectors menu for the current conversation.
- Try a more specific prompt that identifies the mind map or folder by name.
If the issue continues, contact the Meister Support team.
