Organize Your Mind Maps Into Folders

This feature is available to all users

If you have a large number of mind maps, you might find it helpful to organize them into folders. Folders can currently only be created in the My Maps area.

Create a new folder

You can create a new folder in MindMeister in the My Maps area:

  1. Open MindMeister.
  2. Click on My maps in the left sidebar.
  3. Click the blue (+) Create button.
  4. Select Folder from the drop-down menu.
  5. Type in a name for your folder and click Create

Your new folder will appear on the MindMeister dashboard above your list of mind maps.

Tip

The folders you create to organize your mind maps are completely personal and will not affect how your teammates or collaborators see their maps.

Move mind maps into folders

You can also move mind maps using the three dots menu (...):

  1. Click on the three dots (...) of the respective mind map on the right.
  2. Select Move to Folder from the drop-down menu.
  3. Select the folder you want from the options listed.

Navigating your folders

If you've created a folder structure in MindMeister (i.e. folders within folders), be sure to keep an eye on your header. Here, you can see which folder you're currently viewing and navigate between levels:
