Integrating MindMeister with Google Drive™ enables you to create and open mind maps directly from Google Drive™, sync your entire maps library, export all maps as a backup .zip file or attach files from Google Drive™.
Connect MindMeister with Google Drive™
- Open the Dashboard.
- Click on your avatar in the top-right corner.
- Select Preferences.
- Navigate to Integrations. Select Google Drive from the list of integrations, then click on the blue +Add button next to it.
- On the next page, click on "Authorize Google™", then select the Google™ account you would like to connect.
Create new maps from the Google Drive™ dashboard
Once you've connected MindMeister with Google Drive™, you can create mind maps in Drive the same way you can create documents, spreadsheets and slideshows.
1) Open your Google Drive™ dashboard and click on "New" in the top-left corner of the screen.
2) If you don't see MindMeister in the menu, hover over "More", then select MindMeister from the list of available apps.
A new mind map will be created for you and you will automatically get redirected to the map editor. All new mind maps created this way will automatically be saved both in your MindMeister account and on Google Drive™.
Open existing maps from Google Drive™
You can open the mind maps stored in Google Drive™ directly with MindMeister. To do this, right-click on the mind map file, then select "Open with" > "MindMeister".
Bulk Export to Google Drive™
You can export all your mind maps bundled as a ZIP archive to your Google Drive™. Please see this article for further details. To export your data:
- Open your Dashboard.
- Select the avatar in the top-right corner.
- Click Preferences.
- Click Appearance.
- Select Export in the left sidebar.
- Choose Export to Google Drive.
Sync mind maps with Google Drive™
All maps created from your Google Drive™ dashboard are automatically synced with MindMeister. If you'd like to sync your existing MindMeister mind maps, thereby saving all maps on Drive in addition to your MindMeister account, you can enable the sync in your Drive integration settings.
