Navigate the MindMeister Dashboard / Home

This feature is available to all users.

Home in MindMeister is the new dashboard for all your recent mind maps. The home screen offers quick access to the most recently modified mind maps. It shows mind maps both created by you and shared with you.

From here, you can find, create, edit and navigate to your mind maps.

Homepage

“Home” is your default start screen when you log in to MindMeister. Here you can see a list of your most recently edited mind maps and quickly access your work.

Specifically, you can see:

  • Name: The name of the mind map.
  • Location: You can see whether the mind map is in the My maps or Team maps area.
  • Created by: The name of the person who created the mind map. This person is usually the Content Manager and has full administrative control over the settings of the mind map.

If you have access to private mind maps — you’re a paid MindMeister customer — all mind maps created in Home or in My maps are private by default. Only mind maps created in Team maps are Team maps.

Note

- Sorting: Mind maps on the home page cannot be sorted.
- Folders: It is not possible to create folders in the Home page. If you want to organize your mind maps in folders, please navigate to the My Maps section, where you can easily create folders.
- Drag and drop: Dragging and dropping mind maps onto certain areas (e.g. Favorites or Trash) in the left sidebar is no longer possible. Instead, use the ellipsis menu on the right side of each mind map for individual actions. For bulk actions, select multiple mind maps and then use the ellipsis menu at the top of the list.
- Preview images: MindMeister has updated all thumbnails for mind maps with modern illustrations. (The previous thumbnails are only available in the mobile apps for iOS and Android and are no longer supported in the web version.) Thumbnails cannot be changed or replaced.

Create new mind maps and access templates

You can create new mind maps from scratch or from a predefined template in the Home header.

Select the plus icon (+) to create a new mind map from scratch, or select one of the listed predefined layouts to create an org chart, meetings notes, or any other template of your choice.

Team maps

The Team maps area shows a list of mind maps that you or your team members have moved to this area. All team members share this view, so everyone will see the same mind maps in this area.

Team mind maps are mind maps that are visible to every user within your team. They offer a collaborative way to share ideas, align, and organize knowledge across your team.

Where can I find my public mind maps?

Public mind maps are mind maps that users have intentionally made visible to everyone via the MindMeister Universe, so that anyone can view, copy and reuse them.

All published mind maps can be accessed through the Home, Team maps, or My maps sections. You can easily identify them by the "publishing" icon displayed next to the mind map title.

A centralized list of all published mind maps is available in the MindMeister universe. To view the list:

  1. Open the MindMeister Universe.
  2. Click on My Channel in the left sidebar to view all published mind maps.
